The promising trumpeter from Istanbul’s alternative music scene.

Barış Demirel counts traditional Middle Eastern and Turkish music as well as jazz, ambient, rock, shoegaze, avant-garde and Gainsbarre among his influences. He re-named his project “Barıştık Mı” (Are We Good) after he started studying the trumpet. He ranked first in the Roxy Music Days in 2011. His debut maxi-single ‘O.Y.D.H.O.G.Y’ came out in 2012 and followed by the debut album ‘T.E.A.R’ in January 2015. Demirel revisits Salon after his 2015 appearance with the launch concert of ‘T.E.A.R’ with yet another introduction, this time to his latest album, ‘Fail Play’.
