A music collective that originated in the eminent Boğaziçi University, known as a nest for musicians.

Cümbüş Cemaat [Revel Community] interprets traditional music with the touch of many musicians without relying on forms, and also works on their own compositions. Cümbüş Cemaat composed original music for the renowned director Tony Gatlif’s film Djam in 2017 and gave a concert before the movie’s premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Together with Shantel, they recorded their 2020 album Istanbul in Frankfurt. ‘This is a rebel song. Everyone, hug your mummy and get ready to dance!’ they cheered in their 2023 single, ‘Mumya’, recently followed by ‘Meyhaneci’. Last May on the night of Hıdırellez, they celebrated the beginning of spring at Salon, which was a total feast.
