Founded in Eskişehir in 2000, Gevende embarked on a journey stretching from Istanbul to Nepal after their debut album Ev in 2006. In 2011, they released Sen Balık Değilsin, featuring guest artist Eivind Aarset. Following their 2017 album Kırınardı, they held a series of sold-out concerts. Celebrating their 20th anniversary with a spectacular show at the start of 2024, Gevende continued working in the studio on their new album. Over their quarter-century journey, Gevende seeks a complex homeland woven from the stories of diverse people, places, and cultures. Their quest continues with the single Düş, released in March as a new chapter after eight years.
