Our dear, now widely-known Hedonutopia, does experimental music justice to the fullest. They are at Salon with one of their traditional concerts.

Hedonutopia was founded in 2008 by Fırat Külçek and Kerem Feyzi in İzmir. In 2016, the band won the first prize in Radyo Boğaziçi’s traditional competition, Battle of the Bands. Reminiscent of the artists that shaped the history of music such as Radiohead, Dead Can Dance, Sigur Rós, The Cure, their style combines rock and electronica, nods to the 90s shoegaze, and is highly original for the local scene. With their 2016 debut album Ucube Dizayn [Freak Design] and 2017’s second album Yarı Cennet [Semi Heaven], they received critical acclaim. They kept their promise of one album per year and released Yakamoz Sandalı [Phosphorescence Boat] in 2018. ‘What kind of music would we make if we lived on an island where all our dreams come true?’ was the question they musically answered in Arzu Ütopyası [Utopia of Desire] in 2019. They recorded their fifth album Beyaz Durak [White Stop] at home in 2020. With Nergist in 2021 and 7 in 2022, they reached their goal of ‘7 albums in 7 years’.
