A youthful jazz crowd from the west side of Istanbul, a free-spirited music collective.

İstanbul West Side Collective is a music collective that five musicians brought from Rumelifeneri to the Istanbul music scene. We first encountered the team in 2022 at the 29th Istanbul Jazz Festival stage and then in the Young Jazz+ 22 album, with their song ‘-3,’ in which afro-beat melodies blend with alto saxophone. With their singles ‘Karadayı’ and ‘Sevda Çiçeği,’ released in 2023, they promised to continue trying unusual ways. They kept their promise with their debut album, Collection I, comprising seven songs. After their performances at the World Youth Festival in Russia in 2024, they return to Istanbul’s mild climate, to meet the Salon audience.

A musical palette blending bebop, modern jazz, funk, soul, and afrobeat; an eclectic mix.
