One of the best jazz vocals in Turkey with her calming voice and narrative-laden songs; a songwriter.

Born 12 April 1980 in Beirut, and raised in the southern town of İskenderun. Studied American Language and Literature at the Bilkent University of Ankara before moving to Istanbul. Released seven solo albums from the Ada Müzik label between 2009 and 2019. She also produced the Fırat Tanış album Mor’üyalar in 2014. Having a significant career as an author as well, Barbur wrote for columns in magazines and newspapers, published her first compilation of short stories and poems Çatıdaki Çimenler – Sen’e Yazılar in 2013, followed by a compilation of interviews Baba Öyküler in 2016, and two other poem collections Sevmediğim Atlaslar and Düğüm Ağacı respectively in 2017 and 2019. Contributed in many films and theatre plays either with her voice, pen, or compositions. Played the role of Tavus Hatun in the Özen Yula play by the name of Şems Unutma, in addition to composing and editing its music together with Cenk Erdoğan. The scores of the play received the Direklerarası Audience Award. It looks like Barbur will continue to write, produce and sing as long as her breath and passion lasts!
