AIR to celebrate their iconic album Moon Safari
Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel crafted a timeless soundscape with their 1998 album Moon Safari, one that would go on to shape the music of the next 25 years. At the dawn of the new millennium, Moon Safari became a cornerstone of contemporary music, inspiring artists like David Bowie, Madonna, Sofia Coppola, and Beck. The dreamlike, immersive sound of AIR – an acronym for ‘Amour, Imagination, Rêve’ – has always defied categorisation. Now, as they mark their dream album’s 25th anniversary with a world tour and electrified crowds, Istanbul warmly welcomes the iconic duo for an unforgettable celebration – almost a rival to the tour’s legendary Royal Albert Hall concert.
Would you care for a souvlaki in space?
For over 35 years, Slowdive has been telling us stories of introspection, escapism, and the fragility of love. The perfection of their deep, reverb-drenched guitars, the warm interplay of Rachel and Neil’s vocals, and the all-encompassing drums and bass – especially striking in their live performances – have made them perhaps the most mesmerising band of the shoegaze genre. After shared losses and a six-year hiatus, their 2023 release, everything is alive, sparked a wave of longing and acclaim that few bands ever experience. ‘Souvlaki Space Station’ – the track that lent its name to their cult 1993 album – opens with the lyrics, ‘closed doors bring open minds.’ Now, with ‘Chained to a Cloud’, they’re calling you above the clouds once more. The festival closes on Sunday night with a performance you’ll never want to end.
Get ready to dance with NEIL FRANCES’ CLUB NF
The duo Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfry formed NEIL FRANCES as an emotional electro-indie powerhouse. After their 2018 EP Took A While and a viral cover of ‘Music Sounds Better With You’, their energetic sound has spread across the globe. Mixing ’80s and ’90s rave, ’70s funk and soul, yacht rock, and classic hip-hop, they’ve crafted a fresh formula for club music. With their CLUB NF project, designed to bump up BMPs and reimagine their tracks, they rocked the stages of Coachella, Electric Forest, and Bonnaroo last year. This time, NEIL FRANCES will transform Parkorman into a pulsating dance floor with their seamless, open-ended live sets.
A French kiss to electronic music: French 79
The solo project of Marseille-based producer Simon Henner, French 79 blends psychedelic textures with the synthetic elegance of electronic music, drawing from the legacies of Erik Satie, Jean-Michel Jarre, AIR, and Daft Punk. With just three albums, he has carved out an enviable new place within the ‘French Touch’ movement. His epic rise has led to exciting new ventures, including scoring Reda Kateb’s film Sur un fil, remixing Cliff Martinez’s Drive soundtrack, and reinterpreting Erik Satie’s Gnossienne No. 5 for Deutsche Grammophon. Under the summer sun, the nostalgic yet powerful synths of French 79 will perfectly capture the festival’s spirit.
A musical odyssey with Gevende
Progressive, rock, fusion, experimental, world music… Or maybe all of it, all at once. For over 20 years, Gevende has been fearlessly crossing genre borders – from dazzling festival stages like Mimi, Popkomm, Babel Med, and Womex to boundary-pushing club sets with Dutch musicians Tobias Klein and Damien Cluzel. Their music is a living, breathing journey – woven together from stories collected across continents, cultures, and their own inner worlds. This March, they added a thrilling new chapter to their voyage with the release of ‘Düş’. Now, they're bringing its dreamlike energy to the festival stag – along with free-spirited, place-less lyrics, trumpets echoing from Anatolia to the Nordics, and a live show that promises a unique adventure every single time.
We drift into the mirage of Anatolian psychedelia
Since crashing onto the scene in 2019 with their explosive debut ‘İsyanlar’, Lalalar have been riding full throttle – fueling the fiery soul of ‘70s arabesque with futuristic flair, all aboard a wild Anatolian ride. Ever since, one question keeps echoing: Where is this song even going? In Lalalar’s genre-defying soundscape, where answers shift with every listen, cinematic retro basslines, raw and electric vocals, twisted lyrics, and fierce, dirty guitars collide head-on with traditional melodies. Their latest album, dropped in 2023, captures it all in one bold statement: At Worst, It’ll Be Good (En Kötü İyi Olur). Now they’re stepping on the gas even harder, amping up the festival vibes, raising the tempo, and leading us straight to the heart of the dancefloor.
Not just music, a state of mind
For over a decade, British musician William Dorey’s studio project Skinshape has been the quiet soundtrack to life’s most ordinary yet magical moments. His sound feels like it’s echoing from another time, where reverb-drenched guitars shimmer, basslines ripple straight through your chest, and every note seems to carry a memory. Drawing from the rich textures of ‘60s and ‘70s funk, reggae, library music, psychedelic rock, African rhythms, and folk traditions, Skinshape layers warm analog effects and mind-expanding melodies into something timeless. Now, with favorites like ‘I Didn’t Know’, ‘Don’t Call My Name’, and ‘Summer’, he’s bringing that intimate magic to the big stage.
The dreamy indie rock of King Hannah
Hannah Merrick and Craig Whittle, an indie rock duo from Liverpool, embark on musical adventures to craft authentic sounds. Gazing out from their tour van, they transform life’s ordinary moments into melodies. This balance, evident in their debut album I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me, turns into a harmonious feast in Big Swimmer. Merrick’s smokey, sinewy storytelling merges with Whittle’s scorching guitar work, while indie stalwart Sharon Van Etten lends her vocals on two tracks. King Hannah raises the stakes, fusing the warmth of 70’s rock with the simmering noise of the 90’s.
