A Dutch musician, composer, and producer whose deep passion for electronic music is evident in every note and word.
Thomas Azier has collaborated with artists like Diplo and Stromae. At just 19, he moved from his native Netherlands to Berlin in search of his own musical identity. Inspired by Berlin’s techno clubs, he released his debut album Hylas in 2014. After an extensive touring period, Azier relocated to Paris, where the city significantly influenced the creation of his second album Rouge, released in 2017. Both albums earned him the prestigious Edison Award, one of the Netherlands’ top music honours. His journey, spanning from Paris to New York and Berlin to Amsterdam, culminated in the creation of Stray, recorded in hotel rooms and rental apartments with just a laptop and a USB microphone. Azier has performed at major festivals such as Best Kept Secret, Lowlands, and Eurockéennes, and has sold out club shows in Paris, Amsterdam, and New York. He experimented with wordplay in Love, Disorderly, explored jazz improvisations in A Collection of Broken Ideas, and celebrated the end of the pandemic with The Inventory of Our Desire. Now, five years after his first performance in Türkiye, Thomas Azier returns to Salon.
A must-see night for those who have Oscar and the Wolf and Balthazar on their playlists.
