A London-based experimental pop trio led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Cathy Lucas, drummer-percussionist Valentina Magaletti and bass/electronics wizard Susumu ‘Zongamin’ Mukai.

Formed in 2015, Vanishing Twin takes its name from Lucas’s twin who disappeared in the womb. Their debut Choose Your Own Adventure (2016) introduced an art-pop aesthetic tinged with psychedelia. On The Age of Immunology (2019), Lucas’s wide-ranging vocal palette came to the forefront. The smooth production of Ookii Gekkou (2021) gave way to Afternoon X (2023), their most acclaimed release to date. Heavier on electronics, the album earned praise from Pitchfork for its ‘unusual balance of chaos and calm.’

A utopian trip through krautrock, post-punk, and psychedelic pop – held together by the hypnotic union of drums and bass. A new favourite for fans of Stereolab and Broadcast.
