Türkiye’s first music collective established by women, creating spaces for women musicians and artists.

Founded in 2017 by artists and musicians actively working in creative direction, event curation and arts education, Sista Sound supports women’s stronger and more visible presence in the music industry, works towards gender equality and raises awareness in this field. Having hosted artists from a wide range of genres through their event series, Sista Sound continues to bring together an expanding network of creators each year. Guided by its motto ‘In Music We Unite’, the collective has built national and international collaborations, approaching music not only as a performance space but also as a ground for encounter, sharing and collective creation. On 8 March International Women’s Day at Salon İKSV, Sista Sound presents a dynamic, multilayered programme bringing together more than 20 artists. Shaping the evening’s vibrant, cross genre flow together will be Dans Agogo (Ana Flavia, Kornelia, Ahu), Dilan Balkay, Elçin Orçun, Melissa Lara Clissold, Merve Bozdağ, Nergis Fırtına, Özge Ürer, Peradi Ensemble, Perma, Ruken Yılmaz, Sista Aloha and Tutku Dubhead. The night will once again highlight collective effort, continuity and shared production as we celebrate women’s presence in performance, expression and creative practice. Beyond a celebration, the evening will offer a collective gathering that foregrounds a growing memory, an ongoing solidarity and the spaces women have opened in music.

With performances ranging from world music to eclectic electronic sounds, and from reggae and hip-hop to folk and alternative pop, this evening is for applauding women’s strength, voice and creativity on stage, and highlighting the unifying power of music.
