This time, the creator of ‘Turkey’s deepest gossip pit’ Şokopop directs his keen eye to the iconic TV contest of the 2000s, Biri Bizi Gözetliyor (BBG), the Turkish adaptation of Big Brother. Following the first screening of the series’ first episode, Şokopop will get behind the DJ booth.

Born in 1988, Şokopop is widely adored with his documentary videos that look at Turkey’s recent past through the window of popular culture. After graduating from high school, Şokopop moved abroad, studied and worked. After returning to Turkey, he reluctantly worked in media organisations for a while until he decided to share his well-admired tabloid knowledge with the public. He published the first video series of his YouTube channel, which he introduced as ‘Fight, polemic, vulgarity, scandal, all on this channel’, on the relationship between two popular figures of the 90’s, Gülben Ergen and Seren Serengil, with the title ‘Blood Feud’. Although he occasionally causes headaches for celebrities, he does a unique job in preserving social memory in a format all his own that he calls ‘new tabloid’.
