An Istanbul-based shoegaze and indie-rock band, formed by childhood friends Oğuz Kont and Sarp Dağlar Şahin, evolved into a trio with the participation of Can Sürmen.

The duo released their first single ‘Gentrification’ in 2015, after working on different projects for over 10 years. With their following three-song EP, ‘2015’, they signalled that soon they will be one of the main ambassadors of instrumental shoegaze and dream pop in Turkey. After the EP, they released their first longplay, ‘Back in Town’, consisting of 7 songs. In 2016 came the ‘Afterclap’ and soon after, they performed for a commercial video for the Italian car manufacturer, FIAT. After performing in several festivals in Istanbul, İzmir and Ankara, they reached a global audience with their single ‘Turkish’ in 2018. Switching from a duo to a trio with Can Sürmen taking over the drums in 2022, The Flabbies accelerated their pace and introduced their new album Alive with a concert in Salon. The trio collaborated with August in 2023 for their remix album, Up in the Air.
