The Ringo Jets “YADİGÂR EP” Launching Party and Concert

The Ringo Jets “YADİGÂR EP” Launching Party and Concert

The Ringo Jets: The good-natured and uncompromising source of pride of our rock music scene.

The Ringo Jets, founded in Istanbul in 2012 by Tarkan Mertoğlu and Deniz Ağan on guitars and Lale Kardeş on drums, has drawn attention from underground music circles for their debut Limited Lunchpack EP. Italian producer Tommaso Colliva (Muse, Franz Ferdinand) recorded their 2014 album The Ringo Jets, created in the shadow of Gezi Protests. The album, which also featured a very powerful example of garage-rock titled “Tease”, moved the band swiftly into the international concert and festival circles. The Ringo Jets have appeared at prestigious festivals such as Primavera Sound, Les Rencontres Transmusicales, Gutter Island, Rock‘n Coke, toured in Scandinavia, France, Italy, Spain, and have shared the stage with numerous bands including Pixies, The Battles, Portishead, The Sonics and Gogol Bordello. The Evil Eye EP, featuring songs such as “Taras Bulba” and “Dirty Hasan” which refer to the band’s Turkish psychedelic-rock roots, was released in 2015, followed by the EP Quatre, recorded by Colliva in Paris, 2016. The trio managed to bring about a compilation album titled Assorted, countless concerts and their 2018 album Open Sesame in the following two years. They put forward an uncompromising, riff-based song approach with the tracks “Full Stash” and “Spiral” from Open Sesame. The band, which have signed a new production contract with the international record label Ferment Records and an agency contract with MOREmanagement at the beginning of 2019, have performed two unforgettable concerts at Øyafestivalen (Oslo) ve Sziget (Budapest) festivals this past August. Their new EP Yadigâr, recorded in Milan with Tommaso Colliva and due to be released on Friday, December 20, features the most colourful and rich musical and lyrical material the band has ever offered. The EP featuring two Turkish and two English songs seems likely to elevate The Ringo Jets even higher, both nationwide and internationally.

Before the concert, a playlist of songs selected by the band and the band’s new four-song EP Yadigâr will be played from start to end. Following the screening of the video dedicated to “Yadigâr Ejder”, The Ringo Jets will take the stage at 21.30.

This event has an age restriction of 18.
